The Steiner Predator binocular was developed as a special tool for hunters and nature observers to more easily spot animals in a woodland setting. Developed about 10 years ago, the concept is simple - boost the transmission of red and brown shades (the "right" side of the color spectrum towards infrared) while slightly reducing transmission of the “left” side of the spectrum (blue, green and UV light) to make animals and other objects “pop out” of the background.
For 2007, Steiner has developed an entirely new Predator binocular for the American hunter and outdoor enthusiast using entirely new optical system formulations, new fully multi-coated optics, and a completely new shock and waterproof housing. The new Predator C5 in Steiner Predator 10x42 and Steiner Predator C5 12x42 deliver a new standard of performance in a hunting binocular that includes a much higher degree of light transmission, image resolution, and color contrast than previously available.

The Predator C5 uses an all-new rigid chassis that is not only durable but also mil.spec waterproof and dry-nitrogen pressurized. You’ll appreciate the aggressive styling of the focus wheel making the C5 easy to use and focus with gloves on in any weather.

Each Predator C5 includes a padded travel case, rain guard for the oculars and attached objective lens caps, along with a contoured neck strap. Optional harness systems are also available. Each binocular is threaded with a tripod mount for fit to the optional tripod adapter.

Steiner's Exclusive C5 Optics

The Steiner Predator C5 Binoculars have new mirror technology which combines silver mirror coatings with selected dielectric coatings applications to the Predator C5's roof prism phase-corrected optics. This new technology delivers greater light transmission, image contrast and better pinpoint resolution than ever before.

Exterior Design
The Steiner Predator C5 Binoculars come with a new, ergonomically designed housing and a special rubberized, aromr covering that feels great in the hand and helps protect the Predator C5 Binoculars from the harshest of hunting conditions. The unique "pistol-grip" checkered rubber surface gives them a secure comfortable grip, even when wet.

Grip-able Thumb Rests
The undersite of the Steiner C5 Binoculars feature Steiner's exclusive Thumb rests that make long glassing sessions less fatiguing on your hands. In addition to the thumb rests, there is more of the pistol-grip checkering.

Focus Wheel
Steier C5 Binoculars propose unique profile design focus wheel that works especially well with gloves and in cold, wet weather due to the wheel's traction ribs. The focusing is smooth for an instantaneous lock on your target.

Steiner Predator C5 Nirogen Waterproof
The Steiner Predator C5 uses an all-new chassis that is not only durable, but also mil.spec waterproof and dry-nitrogen pressurized. The optics are pressurized to over 20 psi firmly setting the seals so outside elements can not intrude to the inner chambers.

Twist up/down eyecups
The Predator C5 offers a generous amount of eye relief so a new twist up/down eyecup was developed. In addition to adjusting the eye distance to your liking, the eye piece also features the flip up or down profiled side flaps that block side light.
